Microplate Assistive Pipetting Light Guide (M.A.P.L.E.)

96-well light panel

The Microplate Assistive Pipetting Light Guide (M.A.P.L.E.) is a custom, open source platform designed to illuminated 96- and 384-well microplates. The core component of the system is an in-house designed LED matrix which matches the SBS microplate footprint and has a red/green/blue (RGB) light emitting diode (LED) under each well. These custom RGB LED panels can be easily programmed using any 5V microcontroller and allow full user control to support applications such as manual cherry picking when labware is damaged and cannot be used on automated platforms.
